Job Purpose:
The Program Lead serves as the supervisor and head of the Cabin leaders. This person is responsible for all the day to day “camper related” activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Onsite Program Development
- Christian Education (worship, bible discovery, devotions)
- Cabin Leader supervision and coordination
- Assist with Indigenous Cultural Programs
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Lead is expected to:
- Model good Christian leadership, in accordance with the mission of Camp
Christopher and adhere to the Camp Christopher Covenant.
- To coordinate and supervise the onsite summer camp program
- To organize, schedule and supervise all aspects of Christian education.
- To facilitate, initiate and promote high quality programs and activities.
- To be knowledgeable and provide resources for a variety of camp activities (games, crafts, nature, wide games, etc.)
- To schedule recreational and developmental activities in consultation with the Waterfront Director.
- To oversee, train, encourage and support all onsite cabin leaders.
- To ensure camp policies are adhered to by staff and campers
- To ensure, to all reasonable extent, the health and safety of campers and staff. This includes educating the campers on the camp rules on opening day and scheduling emergency drills near the beginning of each on site camp.
- To be an integral member of the camping program
- Assist with evaluations of cabin leaders.
- Normally the Program Lead will not leave campsite during a camp.
- Submit reports regarding inventory, evaluation and suggestions, at the end of camp season to the Camp Administrator.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Have First Aid/CPR C
- Provide a Criminal record/vulnerable sector check
